On Saturday, the Hoosier State Relays will celebrate it's 11th
year. The meet first debuted back in 2007 at Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse on the campus
of Indiana University. The meet was started by Bob Potter and a few other
coaches as a series of qualifying meets and a final meet all taking place
during March, much that we are used to today. The HSR meet replaced the 3-year
running NSR meet organized by Dean Slavens. The HSR replaced many of the other
Relays that existed for the indoor season in Indiana. Up in West Lafayette,
Gene Edmonds organized the Boilermaker Relays and down in Bloomington Marshall
Goss organized the Hoosier Relays. Goss also is the organizer of the IATCCC Hall
of Fame out in Terre Haute.
Last year we saw 8 meet records broken throughout the day.
This year we may see just as many broken based off of how athletes are
