Emma Wilson just keeps adding to her ever-growing list of
accomplishments in high school running. This time adding All-American to that
list. At Saturday's Nike Cross Nationals, Wilson finished 14th in a
time of 18:02. Course conditions out in Portland are always tough and this year
was no exception, with temperatures in the low 40's and a very wet course. Wilson
was able to throw down an impressive run, fighting all the way to the end to earn
that All-American style finish. This top finish should give her even more confidence
going into this track season, to hopefully repeat in the 1600-3200 and possibly
start vying for some record times.

Pre-race huddle before the 'hounds biggest race of the year
The Greyhounds of Carmel also competed at Saturday's
National meet. Adding a 4th National finalist finish to their long
list of state championships. The boys finished 10th overall in an
extremely tough competition, scoring 295 points. They finished right where they
were predicted to, beating out 12 other top teams from around the nation. Next season
the boys team loses more than half their varsity squad, so they will be looking
to many of their juniors and sophomores to step up and replace them. Hopefully
they can keep the momentum going and earn a qualifying spot again next year.
