Emma Wilson Qualifies for NXN After 2nd Place Finish At NXN Midwest Regional

Emma Wilson claimed 2nd place in 17:33.9 at NXR Midwest on Sunday.

Congratulations to Indiana's own Emma Wilson on her stellar performance in the championship race at Sunday's Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional in Terre Haute.

Wilson more than earned one of the five spots to Portland by placing second in 17:33.9. She finished just 5 seconds behind Illinois' best Katelynne Hart. She will have the opportunity to toe the line with the rest of country's best on December 2nd at Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, OR.

Just 2 weeks ago the Greencastle High School junior won the IHSAA Cross Country State Championships in 17:45, on this same course. The tougher competition seemed to bring out the stronger side of Wilson as she topped many of the best runners from Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Missouri.

Emma Wilson earned one of the five automatic qualifying bids to Nationals.

Wilson will have a couple weeks here to prepare to race in the biggest race of her career. MileSplit IN wants to wish her the best of luck.
