Week 3: 8/24 - 8/30
This week I moved up to 43 miles! I also moved my PPMs up to a 3 mile short PPM and a 5 mile long PPM.
Monday- Long Run- 7 miles
With our mileage steadily increasing, it has become tough for me and Kate to find new places around the park to run! So today we ran the same trails that we've been running for 3 years. Even though our run felt very repetitive, it seemed to go by pretty fast! We finished up practice with 4 strides and the myrtle routine.
Tuesday- Short PPM- 3 mile PPM 4 miles total
This had to be the best PPM I've had in a while! I ran a PR for 3 miles and felt really good! It made me excited to see what the season has in store! I also did core, myrtle, and had jump rope from 6-8.
Wednesday- CT- 6 miles
Yet again, Kate and I had some difficulty finding interesting trails to run on. But that didn't stop us! We went on a sort of adventure run (even though it wasn't very adventurous) and we found a geocache which was pretty cool.
Thursday- Long PPM- 5 mile PPM 6 miles total
It was a little windy today, but I still had a good first 5 mile PPM of the season. Once I get up to these high mile PPMs, it gets increasingly harder for me to stay focused the whole time. So that's what I tried to avoid today, and I did a pretty good job but still need to work on staying focused during my entire PPM!
Friday- CT- 5 miles
It's Fun Run Friday! Kate and I tried to have a pretty adventurous run, and we even found a (sort of) new trail (which is always exciting). Unfortunately, it was covered in some prickly plants so we got lots of little scratches all over our legs… But it was still fun! Finished the day off with some pasta at our pasta party and got ready for the meet the next day!
Saturday- RACE DAY- 3 mile Hokum Karem 9 miles total
Today we competed at the Noblesville Hokum Karem. Kate and I were partners again and we beat our previous time from the week before! Kate and I finished first as a pair and our team finished 3rd with our other pairs also having solid races. I broke my mileage up with a two mile warm up, 3 mile race, 2 mile cool down, then 2 miles later in the day.
Sunday- CT- 6 mile
Today I ran 6 miles around my neighborhood and my mom biked along with me. I got to check out a new paved trail that they are putting around town!
Total - 43 Miles
