The Vincennes University Men’s Track & Field Team won its side of the Depauw Invitational and the VU Women’s Track & Field Team was fourth Saturday in the meet at Greencastle. The win and top-5 team finishes fired the starter’s pistol on the 2014 Outdoor Season.
The meet featured nine first place performances for VU competitors. One of the victories was a new Depauw Invitational meet record. The VU women’s performances were highlighted by wins by freshman Airrica Harper in the 100 Meter Dash (12.41) and freshman TaPring Goatee in the 800 Meter Run (2:18.15) and her meet record-breaking performance in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase (11:10.83).
