Pike Invite
Isaac Guerendo won the pike invite in 2 event on Friday Night, but his shining moment came in the 100m dash where he set a new IN #1 by a long shot with a time of 10.52, finishing just .21 ahead of Kyle Markland. Markland went on to win the 200 in 21.98, almost a whole second ahead of Jahn Riley. Actually, at the Pike Invite the boys 200 prelims were faster than the finals. Markland went 21.81 there.
Sticking with the Pike Invite, Cathedral's boys went sub-8 in the 4x800 for a time of 7:54.27, moving themselves into that number one spot just ahead of North Central and Zionsville who finished 2nd there.
In the boys pole vault Nathan Stone smashed the old meet record of 13' 9" and went over that 16' mark to take the win.
Haley Nichols a sophomore out of Avon, got some spotlight action in the discus with a toss of 143', moving her to an IN #1 spot.
The real standout of the night in Indy was with Katie Isenbarger over at the high jump pit. Isenbarger smashed through the 6ft barrier and went one inch more, setting a new US #1 in the process with her clearance of 6' 1"!
