National Girls Performer Of The Week (9/6-9/12)

It's still very early in the cross country season, but Nicki Southerland of Delta (IN) showcased why she is one of the top runners this season.

She won her third straight meet last weekend a the Marion Invitational. She ran a personal best of 17:28.20 for 5K, which moved her up to the second-fastest runner this season in the state of Indiana. On this course, she earned a 140 speed rating.

As a freshman, she won this meet over the top runners in the state and also clocked a 17:35.60. In just a seasoon, Southerland showed improvement. 

The sophomore earned about 470 votes out of the 975 votes cast last week. Congratulations Southerland on the impressive performance.
