McPherson Highlights Top Female Marks at Eastern Indoor


The 2023 Eastern Indoors compiled over 1,400 performances on what proved to be a record day at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. There were new high school event facility records in numerous events and personal bests galore. We have attempted to choose a handful to highlight as the top marks from what proved to be a great two days.

Claire Stegall wins One Mile

The sophomore out of Noblesville High School laid down a high school facility record of 4:44.62 to best two of Kentucky's best in Ciara O'Shea and Tula Fawbush.


Lyric Steele Doubles in 60m and 200m

Steele started the day with a solid 7.57 (just 0.7 off of the high school facility record) in the 60m.

The junior from Hero Sprint Club and Charlestown High School saved the best for last with her high school facility record of 24.14 in the 200m


Elyse Wilmes Sets New Record in 800m

Missouri's own Elyse Wilmes out of Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School brought the fire with her 2:12.11 in the 800m and set a new high school facility record in the event.


Chesney McPherson Shows Kentucky's Distance Power

Barren County and Thomson Training's own beat the previous high school facility record in the 2 mile by over 12 seconds with her 10:51.88.
