USI men's runners remain 6th in latest poll
Women's runners rise to 18th

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team remained sixth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Top 25 Poll, while the Screaming Eagles' women moved up one spot to 18th.

Both teams are coming off first-place finishes at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships this past Saturday. Senior All-American Brendan Devine won the men's individual title as the Eagles captured their seventh consecutive GLVC championship and their league-best 19th overall.

Senior All-American Jackie Henderson captured the women's individual championship as USI won its third GLVC championship in the last four years and its sixth in the program's history.

USI's men also remained second in the latest USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings, while the women's squad moved up a spot to third.

In addition to USI, Bellarmine University was ranked 17th in the men's national rankings and 20th in the women's national rankings. The University of Wisconsin-Parkside also was ranked 24th in the latest women's national rankings.

The Eagles return to action November 5 when they compete at the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships in Big Rapids, Michigan. The women's race is slated for a 10 a.m. (CDT) start, while the men's race is schedule to begin at 11 a.m.
