EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Senior All-American Jackie Henderson captured her first individual conference title in women's cross country to lead the No. 19 University of Southern Indiana to a first-place finish out of 13 teams at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday morning at the USI Cross Country Course.

The Screaming Eagles had two of the top four competitors and five of the top 13 as they finished with 40 points to edge No. 17 Bellarmine University, which finished second with 46 points. It marks the third time in four years and the sixth time in the program's history that the Eagles have won the conference title.

Henderson, who was named the GLVC Runner of the Year for her effort, finished the 6k course in 21 minutes, 38.30 seconds as she became the fourth USI runner to claim an individual title—USI runners have won five individual conference championships overall.

Joining Henderson in the top 10 was juniors Lauren Minor and Emily Haines, who finished fourth and 10th, respectively. Minor finished the race in 22 minutes, 4.00 seconds, while Haines finished in 22 minutes, 38.00 seconds.

Both Minor and Haines joined Henderson on the All-GLVC team, as did sophomore Kaylee McClanahan and senior Adrienne Curtis, who were 12th and 13th, respectively, in the 126-competitor field.

Head Coach Mike Hillyard was named the GLVC Men's and Women's Coach of the Year as the Eagles also captured their seventh straight men's title. It marks the 13th and 14th times of Hillyard's career he has been voted the GLVC Coach of the Year.

USI, which has posted a first-place finish twice in the last eight days, returns to action November 5 when it travels to Big Rapids, Michigan, to compete at the NCAA II Midwest Region Championships.
