OWENSBORO, Ky.—The No. 19 University of Southern Indiana women's cross country team finished first out of 13 teams Saturday at the Fast Cats Classic.
Led by senior All-American
Jackie Henderson, the Screaming Eagles finished with 20 points as they had five of the top 10 finishers. Henderson finished first in the 107-competitor field with a 5k time of 18 minutes, 26.60 seconds.
Junior
Lauren Minor finished second with a time of 18 minutes, 30.85 seconds, while sophomore
Kaylee McClanahan was third with a time of 18 minutes, 49.39 seconds. Junior

Adrienne Curtis rounded out the Eagles' top five competitors as they finished fourth and 10th, respectively.
Junior
Joe Angermeier also had a strong outing as he finished 10th out of 107 competitors in the men's race. Angermeier, who completed the 8k course in 27 minutes, 4.45 seconds, was the only USI men's runner that competed in uniform Saturday.
USI returns to action October 22 when it hosts the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at the USI Cross Country Course. The women's 6k is slated for 10:30 a.m. while the men's 8k begins at 11:30 a.m.
