EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior All-American Brendan Devine finished fifth out of 36 runners at the University of Evansville's Mid-America Opener Saturday morning.

Devine finished the 6k race in 18 minutes, 56.00 seconds to lead a small contingent of USI men's cross country runners to a fourth-place finish in the five-team field. Freshman Andrew Beiriger aided the Screaming Eagles with an 18th-place finish.

USI, which won the 11-team Covered Bridge Open Friday evening in Boone, North Carolina, returns to action September 16 at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) when it competes at the Indiana Intercollegiate in Bloomington, Indiana.
