SOMERS, Wis.—The No. 15 University of Southern men's cross country team had four of the top 10 finishers Saturday as it claimed its sixth consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference title.

Junior All-Americans Dustin Emerick and Brendan Devine finished second and third, respectively, to lead the Screaming Eagles, who have won a GLVC-record 16 conference titles.

Emerick finished the 8k race in 24 minutes, 49.4 seconds, just nine ticks off the winning pace set by Drury University's Jaime Villa Zapatero. Devine finished in 24 minutes, 54.00 seconds.

Senior Andrew Dixon was fifth with a time of 24 minutes, 57.9 seconds, while junior Bryan Suarez was 10th with a time of 25 minutes, 30.00 seconds.

Emerick, Devine, Dixon, and Suarez each earned All-GLVC accolades with their performances. It marked the first All-GLVC honor for Suarez and the third each for Emerick, Devine, and Dixon.

Head Coach Mike Hillyard also was honored with his 12th GLVC Coach of the Year honor and his sixth straight in men's cross country. Hillyard has directed the men's cross country team to seven GLVC titles in the last eight years and the women's cross country team to five conference titles since 1998.

USI returns to action November 20 when it competes at the NCAA II Midwest Region Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
