KENOSHA, Wis.—Sophomore Dustin Emerick posted a pair of second-place finishes this weekend to lead the University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team to a seventh-place finish at the GLVC Indoor Championships.
Emerick opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters Friday night, finishing the race in 14 minutes, 55.02 seconds. He came back Saturday to post a time of eight minutes, 42.46 seconds in the 3,000 meters.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles six top-five finishes as they finished seventh overall with 42 points.
Freshman Brendan Devine and sophomore Andrew Dixon aided the Eagles with third and fourth-place finishes, respectively, in the 3,000 meters. Dixon also posted an eighth-place finish in the 5,000 meters.
The Eagles return to action when they open the outdoor season April 2-3 at the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis, Missouri.
