BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Sophomore Dustin Emerick finished fourth in the 3,000 meters Friday night to lead the University of Southern Indiana men's track and field team at the Indiana University Relays this weekend.
Emerick finished the race with a season-best time of eight minutes, 29.11 seconds, a time that moves him into sixth-place on USI's all-time indoor 3,000-meter performance list.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles had five top-10 finishes Friday night, including three in the distance medley relay. Junior Cole Schroer finished sixth in the 600 meters with a time of one minute, 29.13 seconds. The Eagles, who had four squads competing in the distance medley relay, posted finishes of sixth, eighth, and 10th in the DMR.
The Eagles return to action February 12-13 when they send a split squad to Allendale, Michigan, to compete in the Grand Valley State University Big Meet. USI also will compete at the DePauw Indoor Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana February 13.
