BOONE, N.C.—The University of Southern Indiana women's cross country team finished sixth out of 12 teams at the season-opening Covered Bridge Open Friday evening.
Senior All-American
Jackie Henderson paced the Screaming Eagles by finishing 20th out of 118 runners with a 5k time of 19 minutes, 26.20 seconds. Henderson was one of three USI runners to finish in the top 30 as fellow classmate
Adrienne Curtis and junior
Lauren Minor finished 24th and 27th, respectively.
Curtis crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 31.90 seconds, while Minor finished in 19 minutes, 37.00 seconds.
Freshman
Skylair Hilton and sophomore
Erika Wilson rounded out the Eagles' top five by finishing 31st and 34th, respectively.
USI returns to action September 16 when it competes at the Indiana Intercollegiate in Bloomington, Indiana. The race is slated for a 2:30 p.m. (CDT) start.
