EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's track and field teams return to action Saturday and Sunday when they compete at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships in Rolla, Missouri.
USI's men are looking to improve on a fifth-place finish from the GLVC Indoor Championships, while the women's squad is looking to improve on a seventh-place finish from the GLVC Indoor Championships.
The Screaming Eagles will be strong favorites to capture GLVC titles in the men's and women's 5,000 meters, 10,000 meters, and 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Junior
Dustin Emerick is a favorite in the men's 5,000 meters, while junior
John Latta and sophomore
Brendan Devine are favorites in the men's 10,000 meters.
Sophomores
Michael Callison and
Michael Jordan figure to be top contenders in the men's steeplechase, while freshman
Kaylee McClanahan is the top-seeded competitor in the women's steeplechase.
Senior
Allison Laird and junior
Adrienne Curtis are both expected to compete for a title in the women's 10,000 meters, while junior
Jackie Henderson should contend for a title in the women's 5,000 meters.
