BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Freshman
Kaylee McClanahan and sophomore
Brittany Karges each recorded first-place finishes to lead the University of Southern Indiana women's indoor track and field team at the Hoosier Invitational Saturday.
McClanahan was first in the mile with a time of five minutes, 11.01 seconds, while Karges was first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18 minutes, 55.02 seconds.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles had six top-five finishes and 15 top-10 performances. McClanahan also added a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters, while freshman
Lauren Seidl was second in the long jump and sixth in the 60 meters.
Other top-five performers included freshman
Jordan Mornout, who was third in the 800 meters; freshman
Erika Wilson, who was fifth in the mile; and sophomore
Emily Haines, who was fifth in the 5,000 meters.
USI returns to action February 11-12 when it competes at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan.
