OWENSBORO, Ky.—The No. 15 University of Southern Indiana men's cross country team had the top three finishers and six of the top 10 as it finished first out of six teams with 18 points Saturday at the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Screaming Eagles also had a freshman squad compete in the race as it finished fourth with 95 points.
Junior All-American
Dustin Emerick finished first with an 8k time of 25 minutes, 9.82 seconds to pace the Eagles, who recorded their first win since capturing the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship last year.
Senior
Andrew Dixon finished second with a time of 25 minutes, 13.83 seconds, while junior All-American
Brendan Devine was third with a time of 25 minutes, 34.28 seconds.
Sophomores
Michael Callison and
Michael Jordan finished fifth and seventh, respectively, to round out the Eagles' top five finishers.
The Eagles return to action November 6 when they compete at the GLVC Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
