HILLSDALE, Mich.—Four University of Southern Indiana runners recorded NCAA II qualifying standards Friday night at the Hillsdale “Gina” Relays.
Freshmen Michael Jordan and Michael Callison recorded provisional qualifying times in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Jordan finished seventh out of 48 competitors with a time of nine minutes, 12.96 seconds, just seven ticks shy of an automatic mark, while Callison was 14th with a time of nine minutes, 20.71 seconds.
Sophomore Dustin Emerick ran the 5,000 meters in an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 38.86 seconds, good enough four 10th in the 140-competitor field.
Senior All-American Mary Ballinger recorded her second straight NCAA II automatic qualifying time in the women's steeplechase with her third-place finish. Ballinger completed the race in 10 minutes, 37.02 seconds.
The Screaming Eagles also are competing at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, this afternoon.
