Henderson earns GLVC women's track honor

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana sophomore Jackie Henderson was named the GLVC Female Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts in the Screaming Eagles' outdoor season-opener this past weekend at the Washington University Invitational.

Henderson finished fourth out of 56 competitors in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17 minutes, 39.53 seconds.

The second-team All-GLVC performer during the indoor season was just 6.53 seconds shy of an NCAA II provisional qualifying time in the event. Her time ranks second in the GLVC behind teammate Mary Ballinger.

USI returns to action April 16-17 when it sends a small squad to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California. The Eagles also are scheduled to compete at the Rose-Hulman Twilight in Terre Haute, Indiana, on April 16.
