ALLENDALE, Mich.—Sophomore Wes Masterson moved into second-place on the University of Southern Indiana men's track and field all-time indoor 800-meter performance list with his effort Friday night at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet.

Masterson finished 32nd in the 800-meter invitational with a time of one minute, 55.87 seconds, less than three seconds shy of Jessie Davis's school-record time. Masterson, who was less than two seconds off an NCAA II provisional qualifying time in the event, also helped USI's distance medley relay team to a 10th-place finish.

Individually, senior Andrew Menner had the Screaming Eagles' top finish as he placed 12th in the 3,000 meters. Sophomore Dustin Emerick was 25th in the 5,000-meter invitational race and missed a provisional standard by just over two seconds with his time of 14 minutes, 48.97 seconds.

The Eagles return to action Friday night when they travel to Charleston, Illinois, to take part in the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special.
