Top Ranked Indiana Senior Tyler Schwartz Makes Her College Commitment

Indiana's topgirls cross country runners has decided where she will continue her academic and athletic career next fall.

Dekalb High senior Tyler Schwartz, who owns a US No. 12 time in the 5K of 17:19.10, announced Tuesday her commitment to Bradley University in Illinois via her Instagram.

Schwartz will join Ally Lampert, a former athlete of of Pike High School in Indiana. The Lady Braves are coached by Darren Gauson and he notably coached the program to a sweep of the conference title in 2015.

"I chose Bradley because I fell in love with the coaching staff and the girls on the team," Schwartz said. "I felt at home as soon as I took my official visit and I can't wait to see what's in store as a Brave!" 

Schwartz also took visits to Furman and Georgetown before making her choice.

Schwartz starts her state journey this Saturday at sectionals as she tries to repeat as the Indiana High School Athletic Association Cross Country Champion -- the state notably only has one classification.

While Schwartz is the favorite, she has some tough competition from improved competition, such as Zoe Duffus (Ft. Wayne Carroll) and Abby Lynch (Brownsburg).
