Indiana University Open 2009

Bloomington , Ind.- The University of Akron men's cross country team competed In the Indiana Open Saturday. The meet was scored using the open format which places each runner as an individual and does not calculate team finishes.

The Hoosiers opened the 2009 season with the Indiana Open. The small meet consisted primarily of Indiana University runners, and it provided an opportunity for IU to get a competitive run in to start the season. The women's team was led by Chelsea Blanchard, who finished second behind only assistant coach Rebecca Walter. The men were led by redshirt freshman Zach Mayhew and junior Andy Weatherford who finished first and second respectively.
