Exeter Milers preview: John Jefferson

On August 7th in Exeter RI a group of professional, collegiate, and high school atheltes will be making an attempt to break four minutes in the mile.  MileSplit RI will be covering this historic event in the coming two weeks.  Part of this coverage includes introducing some of the big names that will be included in this meet.  Today's focus is Brooks athlete John Jefferson.

John Jefferson

John originally is from Delray Beach, Florida where he attended Atlantic Community high school.  John ran his collegiate career at Indiana University and graduated in 2006.  While in college he amassed multiple all Big-Ten and all American accolades. He ran a 3:57 mile during his junior year at Indiana. One of the more interesting side notes about John is that he and his brother Sean were the first ever American born brothers to both run faster than four minutes in the mile. Following college John joined the Oregan Track Club, and now currently competes as a member of the Indiana Elite track club while still being sponsored by Brooks. He now currently holds a personal best of 3:56 in the mile and recently ran 3:40.87 for 1500m

John certainly could be a factor in the Exeter Mile.  For more information, interviews, and race videos related to John Jefferson, see our partner site flotrack at: http://www.flotrack.org/speaker/776-John-Jefferson
