Matt McClintock becomes a Boilermaker


 

The state's top male distance runner has made his college decision. The 3x Class C champion & 2011 Footlocker All-American Matt McClintock of Madison HS will be wearing the Purdue Boilermakers jersey next fall. McClintock just completed his official visit this weekend, & that visit convinced him Purdue was the right choice for him. The senior had a great fall xc season, that saw him run undefeated in the State of Maine, earning wins at the Fetsival of Champions, MVC Conference Championship, Class C Western Maine Championship & Class C State Championship. Matt wen ton to earn his first ALL-NE award via his 3rd place finish, then placed 6th in the Footlocker Northeast Championship to earn a coveted spot in the Footlocker National Championship. McClintock went on to finish in 15th to earn one of the prestigious All-American awards at the Footlocker Natioal Championship in Decemeber.

 

McClintock on choosing Purdue "I liked the campus, and I had a really good connection with the coach." "I felt that he would be able to guide me to where I needed to be to make the 2016 Olympics. They also were able to give me enough scholarship to be able to afford to go there."
