EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana senior All-American Jackie Henderson was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her efforts at the Fast Cats Classic last Saturday.

Henderson's first-place finish in the 107-competitor race at the Fast Cats Classic propelled the No. 19 Screaming Eagles to a first-place finish in the 13-team field. She finished the 5k course in 18 minutes, 26.60 seconds.

This marks the second time this season and the third time in her career that Henderson, a mathematics major and graduate of Lake Central High School (St. John, Indiana), has earned the weekly cross country honor.

As a team, the Eagles placed five runners in the top 10 and had the top four finishers as they finished the Fast Cats Classic with 20 points.

USI hosts the GLVC Championships Saturday at the USI Cross Country Course, located at the Broadway Recreation Complex. The women's 6k race begins at 10:30 a.m., while the men's 8k race is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
