LOUISVILLE, Ky.—University of Southern Indiana men's track and field sophomore
Michael Callison posted a provisional qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday night at the Louisville Cardinal Twilight.
Callison was fourth overall with a season-best time of nine minutes, 5.85 seconds. Fellow classmate
Michael Jordan was 10th in the steeplechase, while senior
Brandon Campbell was sixth in the 5,000 meters.
Freshman
Kaylee McClanahan won the women's steeplechase with a time of 11 minutes, 18.24 seconds, while sophomore
Lauren Minor and freshman
Jordan Mornout were second and third, respectively, in the steeplechase.
Callison, along with Jordan, senior #C.J. Trotter#, and junior
Jackie Henderson, will have to wait until next week to find out if he will be joining junior
Dustin Emerick at the NCAA II Outdoor Championships May 26-28 in Stanislaus, California.
Emerick has already secured a spot in the men's 10,000 meters and is virtually a lock to compete in the 5,000 meters as well. Henderson is currently 10th in the women's 10,000 meters and figures to be a lock for her second straight trip to the national meet, while Callison and Jordan are on the bubble in the steeplechase. Trotter was tied for 26th in the high jump heading into this weekend and is unlikely to make the final cut.
