USI’s Mannix has strong finish in international race

ARMAGH, Ireland—Former University of Southern Indiana cross country/track runner and current USI Assistant Coach Tristan Mannix '07 (Crosthersville, Indiana) finished seventh out of 64 competitors at the 21st Armagh International 5k Road Race Thursday.

Mannix, who completed the race in 14 minutes, 20.98 seconds, was second among U.S. competitors and was less than four seconds off the winning pace set by England's Matthew Bowser.

Mannix, who earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from USI in 2007, was a three-time All-GLVC competitor in cross country and track during his collegiate career. He Helped lead the Screaming Eagles to three GLVC titles and competed at the NCAA II Cross Country Championships twice.
