EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Saturday at the Fast Cats Classic at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, Kentucky. The women's race starts at 11:30 a.m., followed by the men's race at 12:15 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles enter the final regular season contest leading up to the GLVC Championships and will use this meet as another stepping stone to the postseason.
With USI not hosting an event this season, this meet will serve as a “home away from home” opportunity to run in front of fans and supporters.
Head Coach Mike Hillyard likes his teams' progression up to this point, even after a rough outing at the Louisville Classic.
“I've began to see the results of our training paying off and everything we do prior to November is preparation for the three big meets at the end of the year”, stated Hillyard.
On the men's side, USI, which is ranked No. 15, nationally, was led by junior All-Americans Dustin Emerick and Brendan Devine in the Louisville Classic. The women, also ranked No. 15 in the nation, were led by freshman Kaylee McClanahan and junior Jackie Henderson.
The Eagles next meet will be the GLVC Championships November 6 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
