Eagles move up in national polls

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's cross country teams both moved up a spot in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Top 25 polls.

USI's men moved to seventh, while the women's squad rose to 12th in the latest poll. While the Screaming Eagles' were the only team from the Great Lakes Valley Conference in the women's poll, Drury University and Bellarmine University were 24th and 25th, respectively, in the men's poll.

In the Midwest Region rankings, the Eagles remained second in the men's poll and the third in the women's poll.

The Eagles are coming off an impressive showing at the Appalachian State University Mountaineer Open last Friday. USI was second in the women's race and tied for second in the men's race.

USI returns to action October 2 when it competes at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
