INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana sophomore Dustin Emerick was named the GLVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Mt. SAC Relays last weekend in Walnut, California. Lewis University's Scott Barnas also was named the GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Emerick ran an NCAA provisional mark in the 10,000-meters in the Mt. SAC Relays, crossing the finishing line in a time of 29 minutes, 49.16 seconds. The time was less than 10 seconds short of an automatic qualifying time and moved him ahead of GLVC Hall of Famer James Nolan into third on the all-time list. He also currently ranks eighth on the national poll.
