WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Junior Aaron Kremer led the way as nine IUPUI runners competed in the Dave Rankin Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Kremer was one of the Jaguars' seven entries in the 5,000 meter run while two others competed in the 1,500 meter race. 

Kremer continued his solid spring, placing sixth of 28 runners in the 5K, finishing in a time of 15:05.81. Freshman #J.D. Smith# crossed at 15:20.51 in ninth place and sophomore Ricky Warren was 11th at 15:30.55. 

DePaul's Matthew Graham won the race in a time of 14:40.71 and was followed up by a trio of runners from Central Michigan, all of whom finished under 15 minutes. 

Senior Evan Fruits was the faster of IUPUI's two entries in the 1,500, finishing 13th of 24 runners in a time of 4:06.44. Behind him, junior Joe Hoffman came in at 4:09.03. Fruits entered at a shorter distance than normal as he's battling injury while Hoffman opted to run the 1,500 after running 5K's the past two weekends. 

IUPUI will conclude its spring season next weekend when it takes part in the Stan Lyons Invitational, hosted by Butler.
