Complete Day 1 Results

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—University of Southern Indiana senior All-American Mary Ballinger finished third in her preliminary heat Friday to advance to the finals in the mile at the NCAA II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Ballinger ran the race in five minutes, 8.73 seconds and will be one of nine competitors competing for a national championship in the event Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (CST).
