CEDAR CITY, Utah - The IUPUI men's and women's cross country teams will head to Cedar City, Utah to take part in this weekend's Summit League Championships at Cedar Ridge Golf Course. The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin at noon ET, followed by the women's 6K race at 1:00 p.m. ET.
First-year Head Coach
Joni Sanders' women's squad is led by the duo of junior
Brittney McDuffee and sophomore
Ana Paez at the top of the lineup. Last season, McDuffee ran to a Second Team All-Summit League award by placing 12th at the championship meet in a time of 21:59.2. Most recently, McDuffee was IUPUI's top finisher in the team's first 6K of the year, running a 22:39.1 at the ISU Pre-Nationals Meet.
Paez was IUPUI's top finisher in three of the team's four 5K's this year.
Freshman
Rachel Zajac excelled in her first career 6K, posting a time of 23:02.3 at the ISU Pre-Nationals.
The team's lone senior,
Jennie Jamicich got off to a slow start due to injury, but has run among IUPUI's top five in two of the past three meets. She was IUPUI's No. 4 runner at The Summit League Championships last season, crossing in a time of 23:39.4.
The Jaguars' best ever finish in the league meet came during the 2001 season when IUPUI placed third among the eight competing schools.
