Regional 2 - Chesterton
Regional #2 is hosted by Chesterton, and the hosts look poised to take two regional championships. The Trojans dominated the boys sectional and narrowly defeated Valparaiso in the girls sectional last week, and will see no tougher competition in the regional this weekend.
Expect Valparaiso, Wheeler, and LaPorte to advance in the girl's race. Portage and Rensselaer Central will have to fight for the last transfer spot. Should Portage take that fifth spot, the entire top five would be made up of teams from the New Prairie sectional.
Valparaiso and LaPorte will fight for the second spot in the boy's race. Look for Portage and Morgan Township to race for fourth and fifth, while New Prairie will try to knock one of those two out of the top five and advance to semi-state.
The Chesterton Regional will get started at 10:30 AM Central Time.
