Kole Mathison Has High Hopes for XC Season

Kole Mathison talks to MileSplit Indiana after a 3rd place finish in the 3200 at the Summer Finale Distance Open

Kole Mathison had a phenomenal race at the Summer Finale Distance Open on Thursday night. He came into the meet with a 9:19 PB, which was set at the Midsummer Night Distance Open a few weeks prior. This was Mathison's first outdoor meet of his high school campaign. Running 9:19 as a freshman is very impressive, but ourselves, and Kole included knew he could do better. And he did just that at the Summer Finale Distance Open, crossing the finish line in 9:10.32, finishing third behind Will Jefferson and Lucas Guerra. Mathison's 3200 performance puts him at US #16 in the 3200.
