Culver Academies Invitational Cancelled for 2020

2018 Boys Varsity Closed Competition

The 2020 Culver Academies Cross Country Invitational has been cancelled.

The Culver Academies Invitational is the largest meet in the state of Indiana. Last year's invitational saw over 3,500 athletes competing. The amount of athletes competing combined with the amount of coaches and spectators raised concerns about the health and safety of everyone in attendance.

2020 would have been the 39th Annual Culver Academies Cross Country Invitational.

This is the first of any large invitationals in the state of Indiana to already call off the 2020 edition of their meet. There may be more that decide to cancel their annual events due to restrictions in place and out of concern for the large amount of people that will gather for the meet. MileSplit Indiana will continue to update as we hear of any other meets that decide to hold off or largely modify for the 2020 cross country season.

Official Statement from Culver Academies Athletic Director, Kevin Cox.

"I regret to inform you that Culver Academies will not be able to host the Cross Country Invitational this fall. A final decision was made yesterday. The size of this event was certainly the primary factor in making this decision - as Culver also recently announced the cancellation of Fall Parent's Weekend."

"We fully expect to reinstitute this event for the Fall of 2021. Hope all is well for you and your family. Stay healthy and safe!""
