Boys:
Small School:
West Lafayette has some really solid sprinters. Kyle Hazell has had a fantastic start to the season, and we won't be surprised to hear his name later on. Their distance team has also put up some good times for this point in the season.
Concordia has some of the best distance runners in the state. Reece Gibson and Drake Kropf are two guys to look out for all year. There 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams have put down some solid times.
3. Westview
Spencer Carpenter looks very strong this year. He's already ran a 4:28:37 in the 1600 and as the season goes on that time will only drop. He had a good cross country season, and look for that to carry over into track. Their relays teams also look solid.
4. Christian Academy of Indiana
CAI has one of the best 3200 runners in the state and that is Caleb Futter. You'll hear his name all season. There hasn't been anything else to impressive from CAI but their relays don't look to bad.
5. Frankton
You might not hear about Frankton much, but they've actually impressed us. Their relay teams look solid and Dimitri Margaritidis has had an impressive start to the season. We're not sure what Frankton can really do this season, but early on they don't look too shabby.
Large School:
North Central has had a great start to the season. They've had some impressing times in the 4x400 and 4x800. North Central finished 2nd last year at state, and they look like they have shot a state title this year.
2. Zionsville
They haven't ran much this year, but with the stats we've seen Zionsville has a solid team. It's still to early to say, but we know this won't be the last time we hear about Zionsville this year.
3. Carmel
Carmel has put up solid performances so far this year. One guy to look out for from Carmel is Elias Konow in the 800. He owns the IN #1 with a time of 1:54:48. Carmel hasn't really ran any relays so far this year but we know they'll be towards the top at the end of the season.
Indianapolis Cathedral has the best distance runner in state and arguably one of the best in the nation. Cole Hocker has already laid down a blistering time in the mile with a time of 4:12. Hocker gives Cathedral some easy points and look out for Cathedral's distance relay teams.
Warren Central looks to have some good sprinters this year. In the 400, Otto De St Joer and William Arnold have had a fantastic start to the season. We're still not sure what Warren Central can do, but we're sure we will hear their name once in awhile.
