Kick Of The Week: Sam Burley HOF Invite 4x800m

There were several amazing kicks submitted this week for The Kick of The Week, including two from the Ohio state meet, but this one from Florida had us in awe.

This kick comes from Florida's Sam Burley Hall of Fame Invitational 4x800m relay. On the final runner's last lap, it looked like Christopher Columbus (FL) High School had the race all but locked up. The runner from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School (FL) who was in second seemed to be closing the gap a little bit but then seemingly out of nowhere Piper (FL) High School's Sukeil Foucha came blazing into the picture on the backstretch.

Around the final curve, Foucha started to make the pass first on Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, then on the final straightaway Foucha passed Christopher Columbus High School and moved into first. He would hold off the other two athletes to earn his team the win. Foucha got the baton in sixth place and at the start of the bell lap, he was about six seconds behind first.

Piper High School's time of 7:59.48 ranks U.S. No. 4 with the second- through fourth-place teams finding themselves ranked six, seven and eight in the national 4x800m rankings.
