On January 4th of 2018 Lindsay Absher (West Forsyth) had her first big breakthrough when she jumped 13-0 in the Pole Vault. The mark was tied for NC#2 All-Time and was just .75 inches short of tying the state record at Forsyth Series #3.
During her junior outdoor season Absher would move up to 13-3 where she claimed her first NCHSAA State Championship.
Through Absher's first three meets of 2018 she started out strong clearing heights of 12-9, 12-6 and 12-10. The Purdue commit had seemed to be in great form to take down the North Carolina Indoor State Record of 13-0.75.
On Thursday at the Titan Classic #2 Absher was able to set a new indoor PR en route to setting a new state record of 13-1! Anna Eaton (Apex) set the mark back in 2015. After coming so close a little over a year ago I'm sure Absher is thrilled to have the barrier off of her to do list for the indoor season.

Girls Pole Vault is currently in it's 20th year in existence as a girls event in NC. It began back in 1999. It's certainly becoming one of the states stronger events on the girls side as Abhser leads a strong senior class of vaulters.
Absher's 13-1 currently sits at US#2 in the event with Gennifer Hirata (VA) currently holding the top mark at 13-3.
