Emily Covert Makes Pledge To Colorado

Her ascent into the national focus has been a continual theme over the past two seasons and on Sunday Foot Locker Nationals All-American Emily Covert capitalized on her momentous rise, committing to the University of Colorado Boulder ahead of the November 14 signing day.

The Minneapolis Washburn (MN) High School senior, who holds titles from last year's Class AA cross country race and the AA 3200m over the track and field season, is undefeated in 2018 and authored an undefeated regular season as a junior in Minnesota, too, before going on to finish second at NXR Heartland, third at Foot Locker Midwest and ninth at Foot Locker Nationals.

Covert should be a dual-recruit for the Buffaloes in cross country and track and field, where she has the potential to race anywhere from the 1500m up to the 10K.

She holds PRs of 4:47.34 in the 1600m, 10:06.19 in the 3200m and 16:55.71 in the 5K (XC). She also set a US No. 1 time in the indoor 3200m last winter in 10:13.28.

A year ago, Covert qualified for both Nike Cross Nationals and Foot Locker Nationals.
