Team Score Blueprints: 5-Year History

Learn how to get your team to the top of this podium next weekend

Attention coaches and athletes who have high team goals for October 27th, 2018!

The infographic below summarizes data from the last five IHSAA State Championship meets.  This is NOT an analysis of team points (let's be honest, who on Earth can calculate team points by subtracting the individual/non-team athletes while the race is actually going on?).  Instead, this is an analysis of OVERALL individual finishers - which makes it easier and more tangible for coaches, athletes, and fans to follow during the race. Using the data from the last 5 years, we believe the graphic below will help show where your top 5 scorers need to finish on average if your team wants to go home with the giant Indiana trophy.

"Best Odds" = The best team average over the past five years.

"50/50 Chance" = An average over the past five years (technically, we've done an average of the mean and median).

"There's a Chance" = The worst team average over the past five years.

Every team has different strengths and weaknesses.  Some teams have strong front runners, some have a strong pack, and some have both.  There are ultimately many different ways a team can score; however, history tends to repeat itself - so set your team goals accordingly!
