Marion County Championships Recap



No record in the boys 4x800 but still a super fast time for the Panthers of North Central to kick off the night. The Panthers finished in 7:55.55, 15 seconds ahead of Lawrence North who took 2nd.

The speediest guy of the night, Johnny Adams, won the 100 dash in 11.19. Kyle Markland of Franklin Central took the win in a photo finish 200 with a time of 22.00. LC Senior Ricky Thornton snagged a win in the 400 with a time of 49.55. He looked to have a little left in the tank too.

In probably the closest race of the night, Malachi Quarles got the win in the 110 hurdles, crossing the line in 14.71. Just .03 ahead of Weni and .04 ahead of Black both from Pike.

Cole Maguire of NC was able to take the win in the 300 hurdles with a 40.08 time.

The Panthers were able to win every distance event on Wednesday. Isaac Weber won the 1600 in 4:22.85. Jacob Lough took the 800 in 1:57.25 with teammate Hendricks falling into him across the finish in 1:57.66. Ian Hunter soloed the 3200 to win in 9:34.46, 8 seconds ahead of 2nd and 3rd.

Ethan Alyea dropped 20 points for the Panthers, winning both the shot put (54' 5") and the Discus (170'5").

Nathan Stone of Lawrence North bested his own meet record clearing 15' 6".

Lawrence Mitchell of Pike set a new meet record in the high jump, clearing 6' 11".

North Central secured their team win with a strong finish in the 4x400 in a time of 3:23.55
