Karlaftis is only a junior but he has already decided on where he's going to college, Purdue University will be gaining his talents in a couple years, primarily for football. This year he went undefeated in Shot Put, hitting his PR of 59' 5.5" at the state meet. He's not as good at discus but gave it a shot this year, finishing his season at sections where he placed 4th with a throw of 141' 10". Now he also plays varsity basketball, this season he's only played 17 minutes and scored 2 points. On the football field is where he stands out with 101 tackles and 12 sacks this season alone. With two more track seasons and another football season, Karlaftis should only improve from here.
