Regional 2 - New Prairie
Feeder Sectionals:Rensselaer Central, New Prairie
Boys Teams: Valparaiso, Chesterton, New Prairie, Portage, LaPorte, Morgan Township, Kankakee Valley, Kouts, North Judson - San Pierre, Knox.
Valparaiso's 1st place win last Saturday moved them up into 6th place in the IATCCC ranks. Morgan Township's win moved them up 2 spots into 15th place. Come Saturday, that difference in rankings will seem to get a little smaller. Now Valpo and Morgan won't go 1-2 in the team scores. Chesterton will sneak in there nab 2nd, with the help of Jakob Kintzele, who should be able to cruise to an individual win as well. Predictions: Valparaiso wins, Chesterton, Morgan Township, Portage and LaPorte come back to New Prairie one more time for Semi-State.

Valparaiso and Rensselaer Central are both coming off big sectional wins. Valparaiso's performance was enough to keep them in the #5 spot on this week's IATCCC poll. No other team comes in ranked or even having been ranked this season. I don't see Valpo having an issue taking home the regional plague to add to their sectional trophy. They are led by sophomore, Ava Gilliana who was runner-up at this regional last year. I even see them as having a real shot at the podium come state. I only see one team from the Rensselaer Central Sectional having enough power to get out of this regional, the New Prairie sectional just has stronger teams. It seems to be that way with most regionals, one sectional pulls stronger teams than the other unfortunately. Predictions: Valparaiso wins, LaPorte, Chesterton, Portage, Rensselaer Central move to Semi's back here next week.
