INDIANAPOLIS – Northwestern State's Trecey Rew completed her competition at the 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday with a 15th place in the discuss throw.

Rew, a native of Garland, Texas, ninth in Thursday's shot put event but was third among athletes competing for their respective universities. On Friday, Rew, who holds the Northwestern State school record in the discuss event with a throw of 151-10, fell 10 feet short of that mark with a mark of 141-06.

Rew, who placed seventh in her flight, reached her longest distance on the second of three throws before fouling on her final attempt.

Emily Pendleton, who threw unattached, won the event with a 162-06 distance.

More than 600 athletes have been competing in the championships that is running concurrently with the AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Athletes who are not yet 20 years old in 2007 can qualify for the junior national by reaching performance standards in their events.
