Portland Christian's Jonathan Taylor Commits to Taylor University

Portland Christian's Jonathan Taylor has committed to become a Taylor runner.  The Class A distance star will run for Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.

Taylor was one of the best in Class A this past fall pulling off victories at several of the best meets in the state including the Greater Louisville Classic and Rumble in the Jungle.  He finished 5th overall in Class A at the Kentucky State Cross Country Meet in November.

He ran PRs last spring in the 3200m and 5000m.  He went sub 16 for the first time with a 15:46.05 at the KYtrackXC.com 5K Showdown  in March and then ran 9:37.64 in May to finish as the Class A State Runner-Up at 3200m.

Taylor on why he chose Taylor University:

"The college selection process was a difficult one. I looked at many schools and each one offered their own unique and exciting aspects. It came down to choosing the school that was best for me academically, athletically, and spiritually. I decided that Taylor was the school for me after I visited and spent time with the team and attended a class. I connected well with the coach and I saw great potential to improve my running. The team is also really strong and will be pushing to win a conference title next year."
