Cross Country Places 8th At Indiana Intercollegiate

   BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - - The Ball State cross country team placed eighth among the Women's Big State programs at the annual Indiana Intercollegiate run Friday at Indiana's Championship Cross Country Course.

   Junior Courtney Edon paced the Cardinals for the third consecutive race, posting a 5K time of 19.21.88 to place 24 among the Big State runners.

   Indiana placed first among the eight programs scored as Big State teams with 21 points, followed by Purdue (55), IUPUI (108), IPFW (135), Indiana State (136), Evansville (159), Butler (161) and Ball State (193).

   All collegiate teams from the state of Indiana were invited to run in the Indiana Intercollegiate, with the eight NCAA Division I programs scored as Big State teams, while the remainder of the schools were score as Little State teams.

    Freshman Ericka Rinehart was BSU's second-best runner, placing 35th overall with a time of 19:46.94. Also scoring in the event for Ball State were sophomore Danielle Dahl (37th / 19:56.34), junior Madelyn Webster (47th / 20:17.74) and junior Caitlynn Edon (50th / 20:26.21).

   Also running for Ball State was redshirt freshman Becca Kropf who placed 55th with a time of 22:13.75.

   The Ball State cross country team returns to action Saturday, Oct. 5, when it competes in the Greater Louisville Classic which is slated to start at 11 a.m. (CT).
