Cross Country Heads To Bloomington For Indiana Intercollegiate

   MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State cross country team returns to action Friday, when it travels to Bloomington, Ind., for the 2013 Indiana Intercollegiate hosted at the Indiana's Championship Cross Country Course.

   The first of three races will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the men's (8K) and women's (5K) open race. The women's 5K run will start at 4:30 p.m. with the men's 8K race taking place at 5:15 p.m.

   Every college and university from the state of Indiana, no matter the size or NCAA affiliation, is invited to the meet and over 750 runners are expected to take to the course Friday.

   At last season's Indiana Intercollegiate, hosted by Indiana State, the Cardinals placed fourth among the 26 teams in the women's 5K run.

   The last time Ball State ran on IU's Championship Cross Country Course was at the 2011 Indiana Intercollegiate, with Courtney Edon placing second among BSU's scored runners and 29th overall with a time of 19.00.

   Also running for their second times on IU's top course are juniors Caitlynn Edon and Madelyn Webster. At the 2011 meet, Ca. Edon placed 75th overall in 20:08, while Webster finish in 20:51 to earn 96th.
